Axiomatic Ethics

First of all, I would like to ask whether anybody sees a problem with trying to do Ethics axiomatically? Does anybody believe such an enterprise would be doomed to fail for either practical or philosophical reasons?

Secondly, and perhaps more interestingly...
What would you choose as your set of ethical axioms?

Keep in mind that you would like your axioms to be general enough to cover as many cases of your daily life as possible. And at the same time you also want your axioms to be specific enough to be applicable in real life.
